The standard advertised transfer price is $40 per firearm. Review the related charges and conditions below before arranging shipment.
Standard transfer
Per handgun, long gun, or other eligible firearm. This includes standard transfer processing and required paperwork. Every customer must complete the eligibility process applicable at the time of transfer.
Trigger lock
Charged only when an acceptable lock or locking container is required and one is not included or brought by the customer.
Denied transfer processing
Total processing fee when a required background check returns a denied result. Return shipping, storage, or other handling costs will also apply.
Storage after seven days
Applies to an item left with WDF for more than seven days after WDF notifies the customer that it is available for pickup. Please pick up your order promptly; we do not want to store your order.
Outbound firearm shipping
WDF can ship eligible firearms you have sold to a receiving FFL after required license verification.

A current copy or verification of the receiving dealer’s license is required before WDF can ship. Carrier availability, accepted service levels, packaging needs, and other restrictions are confirmed when service is arranged.
Storage and unclaimed items
WDF has limited secure storage. Please arrange pickup promptly after you receive an arrival notice. The published policy charges $5 per day after seven days and treats an item as abandoned after 180 days. An abandoned item may be sold or destroyed as permitted by applicable requirements.
