FAQ & Policies

Answers about WDF transfer services, appointments, fees, storage, and online-sale scams.

These answers summarize WDF’s current published process. Contact WDF before shipment when a seller, item, identification record, or timing question may affect your transfer.

Scam warning: WDF does not sell firearms online

Wolverine Defensive Firearms provides transfer and outbound-shipping services. It does not operate an online firearm store or accept online payment for firearms. A person or website using a similar name, address, or business information to solicit firearm payment is not this business.

Do not pay. End the conversation and contact WDF directly at wolverinedefensivefirearms@gmail.com using the address shown on this website.

How much is a standard transfer?

The advertised standard fee is $40 per firearm. A lock, denied-transfer processing, storage, return shipment, outbound shipment, or unusual handling can add fees.

Do CPL holders and non-CPL holders pay different standard fees?

No. The current published standard fee is $40 per firearm for both. Required forms and checks are completed according to the customer, item, and requirements in effect at the time.

What should I send when I begin?

Send your name and contact information, the seller’s business contact, order number, item count and general category, and expected shipment or tracking details. Do not email or text identity documents or background-check information.

How does my seller receive WDF’s license information?

WDF provides required license information directly to the seller or shipping dealer after receiving enough transaction and seller contact information to verify the request.

Can I come in when tracking says delivered?

No. Wait until WDF has checked in the shipment and contacted you. Pickup is by appointment after WDF confirms the item is ready.

What should I bring to the appointment?

Bring valid government-issued identification and any additional document WDF specifically instructs you to present. Requirements can vary. Present documents in person rather than emailing images.

Is approval guaranteed?

No. Every transfer is subject to the applicable identification, paperwork, eligibility, background-check, and record requirements. A purchase from another seller does not guarantee that WDF can legally complete the transfer.

What happens after a denied result?

The customer cannot take possession. The current published processing fee is $50 total, and the customer must make timely arrangements for a lawful return or other permitted disposition. Shipping and storage costs can also apply.

When do storage fees begin?

The published policy charges $5 per day after an item remains at WDF for more than seven days following customer notification. An item not picked up for 180 days is treated as abandoned under the published policy.

Can WDF ship a firearm I sold?

WDF can ship eligible firearms to a verified receiving FFL. The handling fee is $40 for the first firearm and $25 for each additional firearm sent at the same time to the same address, plus carrier costs.
